Merry Christmas and Happy Silly Season

With Silly Season well and truly upon us I hope all of you are enjoying this crazy time of year and managing to drink some good wine in the process. We have been hosting some amazing events including lunches, dinners, tastings, tours, gatherings, drink ups and everything in between and it has been great seeing so many people enjoying wine over the last few weeks. I hope the next 2 weeks is as calm as possible for you and you all enjoy a lovely Christmas with family and friends.

This newsletter is jam packed and will be broken into 2 editions with this 1st edition outlining: all of the gift options that are still available while also giving you a glimpse at what's in store for 2012.

Gift Certificates

All of our gift certificates are individually made so you may tailor it to create the perfect gift. You may nominate an amount or a specific event such as a Wine Appreciation Course or French Cheese and Wine Matching Tasting but either way we allow the recipient to use it with complete flexibility.

12 Wines of Christmas

We have put together a special selection of wines that we ourselves will be drinking over the Christmas break called the 12 Wines of Christmas. You may purchase these as part of a Santa's 6 Pack or Rudolph's Dozen.

Each wine has been chosen because 1) We like it 2) We think you will like it and 3) It will make Christmas that more special (or bearable for all of those Grinch's out there)

You may purchase them in any combination as long your total is a multiple of 6. The wines will be delivered before Christmas so long as the order is made by Tuesday.

Say Cheese

It seems that at many of our events the cheeses that we serve are highlights and often overshadow the wines.

So for anyone ordering wine within Sydney we are now offering to deliver the finest French cheeses that we have tasted during the year. There is one condition and that is there must be someone  to collect it on delivery given this is not something you want left lying

Simply let us know when you are ordering wine that you would like some accompanying cheeses and we will match it up to the wines you have purchased. We promise you won't be disappointed.

Events in 2012

Next year is shaping up to be a huge year for us here at the Sydney Wine Centre. Along with our industry leading Wine Appreciation Courses we will be continuing with all of our regular events including French Cheese and Wine Matching Tastings, Discover Europe Tasting Series , Tour de France and other sports themed Tastings, Singles Wine Tastings and our hugely popular Wine Club Dinners.

Also in 2012 there will be an expansion in our wine tours with regular trips to Hunter Valley and Orange along with special trips to South Australia, Victoria and potentially Tasmania. We are also extremely excited to be heading off to Argentina in October and are welcoming expressions of interest for all of these tours if you would like to join us.

Wine Appreciation Courses

We are proud to host both 4 Week and 1 Day Wine Appreciation Courses that are presented by Rob Geddes Master of Wine. These courses have been our calling card for 3 years and continue to grow from strength to strength.

They do however book out quickly as spaces are limited. Both of the first 4 Week and 1 Day Courses for 2012 in February have just 4 spaces available while the March Courses are also filling up.
